2016 Marks Record Breaking Year For Apple's App Store

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It was a record-breaking year for Apple in 2016. That is thanks to the success of its App Store.

The store raked in $20 billion in 2016. That number is up 40 percent from the previous year.

Better Business Bureau Survey Says One Scam Tops The List This Year

The App Store's uptick in sales does not appear to be stopping anytime soon. Customers collectively made $240 million in purchases on January 1 alone.

That figure makes that day the store's busiest to date.
