Put A Cork In Beer Week
Well you know what I meant. Beer week is coming to an end here in Philadelphia. The week long celebration started on June 3, and ends this Sunday. Here are some ways to mark the conclusion of this sudsy holiday.
This festival is every beer lover’s dream. It combines beer and food. Put together by restaurants throughout the area, this celebration is an outdoor day-long carnival that features live music and more.
If you’ve never been to this cozy quaint spot near Spring Garden Street then there’s probably no better time than now. The restaurant features great craft beers and is the perfect last stop on your journey through beer week. Enjoy street food by Chef Matty Matheson (Parts and Labour and host of Dead Set on Life on Viceland), treats by Big Gay Ice Cream, and an outrageous beer list by Goose Island!
300 South Broad Street
The region’s only film festival designed to showcase emerging and established Latino and Latin American film makers kicks off Friday. The Festival features roughly two dozen feature-length films, shorts and documentaries with a purpose of bringing a different point of view to the big screen. For more information check out Cherri Gregg’s preview of the famed festival.
13th and Locust Street
Don’t miss this once in a year colorful prideful extravaganza. The parade starts in the Gayborhood neighborhood and ends in South Philadelphia. It’s no coincidence the parade takes place during International Gay and Lesbian Pride Month.
