Howie Roseman: 'We'd Like To Have Sam Bradford'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Don't give up hope yet, you Sam Bradford lovers.

Eagles "czar" (what is his actual title anyway?), Howie Roseman, says he wants Bradford back.

"We've all been clear that we like Sam, and we'd like to have him back," said Roseman on a podcast via PhillyMag.com. "It goes then between all of us and whether we can figure something out that makes sense on both sides. Sometimes we get into a situation where we sit here and it will make sense from the team's perspective but when you're talking about a negotiation, it's also got to work for the other side and the player, and we understand that. But hopefully this will all work out and we'll look at that depth chart when we line up here in July and be really excited about the position."

The Houston Texans were reportedly interested in Sam Bradford, but Texans reporter John McClain is saying not so fast.

"'We need a quarterback. We need to draft a quarterback,'" Texans owner Bob McNair is saying, according to McClain. "They have not ruled out anybody, but I don't think they're going to be signing or trading for a veteran unless they determine the quarterbacks that they would have a shot at [in the draft] are going to be too pricey to get."

The Eagles have until March 1st to franchise tag Bradford, if they wish to go that direction. Free-agency begins March 9th at 4:00 p.m. E.T.
