PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) — It’s the MLS preseason, and the word for the day is “fitness.” Today, the KYW Philly Soccer Show has an expert in that field.
KYW’s Greg Orlandini and Eli Pearlman-Storch, from the Philly Soccer Page, talk with Philadelphia Union trainer Kevin Miller. He talks about working with the players in the preseason to get them ready for the start of the MLS year.
Miller explains in detail how players have an off-season program and how the team is using technology and sports science to get the most out of each player.
(You can also check out Kevin’s fitness tips at http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/blog/goal-oriented.)
We then discuss an interview Eli conducted with Union defender Austin Berry for the Philly Soccer Page. The former Rookie of the Year has been in limbo with the team for almost a year, losing his spot due to injury and illness. He was then informed, according to Berry, that he would no longer be in the team’s plans.
