PHILADELPHIA (CBS) —  “Flavors of the Avenue,” coming this weekend, is East Passyunk Avenue’s tastiest food fundraiser of the year.

Renee Gilinger (top photo), executive director of the East Passyunk Business Improvement District, says the event will take place this Saturday, April 27th, and raises money for extra security on East Passyunk Avenue.

“We set up a giant circus tent in the parking lot on East Passyunk Avenue between Tasker and Morris,” Gilinger tells What’s Cooking, “and we have over 20 restaurants come and offer samples of their signature dishes and drinks.”

So, what cake concepts are hot with brides these days?

“They love the rhinestones, they like the drages, which are silver and gold to accent the cake and make it sparkle,” Carr explains.  “There’s a pearlized spray that makes it shimmery — people really, really love that this year.”
