Wednesday's Child: Miguel

By Larry Kane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Eighteen-year-old Miguel wants to be a professional baseball player just like his favorite, Ryan Howard.

If that doesn't work, he says, he wants to be a DJ.  He's already practicing on his computer.

"Well, you use a mouse, and then you 'scratch' the CDs on the computer," he explains.  "And that's how you do it."

He loves remixing his favorite artists:  "Drake, Notorious B.I.G., Niki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Kevin Littles."

His social worker, Beth Watkins, says Miguel would benefit from a permanent family that's active.

"(Family members who are) into sports," she says.  "You know, even if not playing, maybe going to watch another team play or something.  He's a very active participant.  We've been to a couple Phillies' games together, and Miguel has made friends with the people sitting around him because he'll start high-fiving people around him when there's a good play or when his buddy Ryan Howard gets a good hit."

For more information about adopting Miguel or any other child, go to the National Adoption Center's  web site, www.adopt.org, or call 215-735-9988.
