Mt. Airy House Fire Was Arson To Cover Up Woman's Murder, Officials Say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia authorities say a woman whose body was found yesterday in a burning home in Mt. Airy had had her throat slashed, and the fire in the home had been intentionally set.

Now, police are going on the assumption that the fire in the Cliveden Street home (photo) had been set in an attempt to cover up the murder.

The victim, Rosalyn Daniels, was found by firefighters with a throat wound; the blaze was immediately labeled suspicious (see previous story).

Now, an autopsy performed by the medical examiner has determined that Daniels' throat had been cut.

Daniels, whose age was not released, was the mother of two children and lived with her mother in the home.  Police had no immediate suspects.
