PennDOT, Phillies Team Up In Effort To Encourage Everyone To Practice Seat Belt Safety
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- PennDOT and the Phillies teamed up in an effort to encourage everyone to buckle up. Police awarded the Phanatic with his own seat belt, one that will fit around that rather large green waistline.
It's part of the National Click It or Ticket initiative.
National data shows wearing a seat belt can increase your chances of surviving a crash by 60%.
Police are sending a zero-tolerance message with the help of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
