Former Yeadon Police Chief Anthony Paparo Alleges Racial Discrimination Behind Firing: Lawsuit

YEADON, Pa. (CBS) -- The attorney for former Yeadon police chief Anthony Paparo tells Eyewitness News he has filed a lawsuit on behalf of his client. It alleges racial discrimination and denial of due process.

Last month, the Yeadon Borough Council fired Paparo in a 4-3 vote, citing his performance.

They also said he violated the police collective bargaining agreement.

Paparo says he was fired because some councilmembers want a Black police chief.
