5-Year-Old Boy Struck, Killed After Running Into Street In Northeast Philadelphia, Police Say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a 5-year-old boy was killed when he ran into the street and was struck by a vehicle in Northeast Philadelphia Wednesday. It happened on the 6900 block of Eastwood Street around 6 p.m.

Police say the boy was struck by a 2004 green Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 46-year-old man. The driver remained at the scene.

The child was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and was pronounced dead.
