Public Weighing In On Proposed Wind Farm Stretching From Atlantic City To Stone Harbor

SEA ISLE CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- The public is weighing in on a proposed offshore wind farm along the Jersey Shore. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management held a meeting on the environmental impact of Orsted's plan tonight.

The company needs federal permit approval to build 98 towering wind turbines in the ocean. If approved, the wind farm would stretch from Atlantic City to Stone Harbor.

If approved, the wind farm would be operational by 2024.
