17-Year-Old Driver Killed After Crashing Into Tree In Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A crash left a 17-year-old driver dead in Southwest Philadelphia. Police say the teen hit a tree before his car went down a ravine.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on the 2000 block of Cobbs Creek Parkway.

Medics pronounced the teenage driver dead at the scene. Four other people in the car are in stable condition.

Authorities closed the intersection overnight to investigate.
