CDC To Release New Information On Children's Mystery Illness Linked To COVID-19

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The CDC is preparing to release new information on a rare condition that is causing organ failure in children who have battled COVID-19. Pediatric Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome causes persistent fever, skin rashes, swelling and poor organ function.

The condition was first reported in children living in New York.

Now, more than a dozen states are reporting cases.

Doctors say the condition is treatable if it is diagnosed early.
