Police: Grenade Found On SEPTA Station Platform Deemed Safe
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A grenade found near on a SEPTA station platform has been deemed safe. According to police, the device was found near an elevator on the westbound side of the SEPTA El train station at South Independence Mall East Market Street.
The device was found around 8:13 a.m. Sunday.
SEPTA police notified the bomb squad, who responded and secured the device.
Normal operations resumed shortly after.
