Warning About Rattlesnake Sighting In Camden County Was False Alarm, Officials Say

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- A warning about a rattlesnake is being canceled. Authorities say there was a sighting of what they thought was a timber rattlesnake in the Albion section of Winslow Township.

Timber rattlesnakes do have a habitat in the area and are normally passive, but they could potentially attack with a venomous strike.

Now officials are saying if you got the alert, it was a false alarm.

However, if you see one, call 911 right away.
