Too Much Caffeine During Pregnancy Can Damage Baby's Liver, Study Says

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A new study is warning about caffeine intake during pregnancy. The study was in Thursday's Journal of Endocrinology.

The study suggests that moms who drink too much caffeine while pregnant can damage a baby's liver and contribute to liver disease in adulthood.

Researchers gave lab rats three cups of coffee per day and found that was enough to change hormone and stress levels that lead to liver issues later on.
