An End To Robocalls? FCC Proposes Plan To Stop Annoying Calls

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Americans received more than 26 billion robocalls last year. Now, the FCC wants to help put a stop to them.

The agency is proposing giving phone companies authority to block the calls by default. That means you wouldn't have to do anything, you just wouldn't receive the calls anymore.

If approved, the plan could go into effect later this year.
