Police Investigate After Woman Shot During Attempted Robbery Near Playground In West Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police are investigating after a woman was shot in the stomach after an attempted robbery in West Philadelphia. Police responded to report of a shooting shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday.
It happened on the 5200 block of Hoopes Street near the West Mill Creek Playground.
The 48-year-old woman was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition.
The suspect is said to have been a man wearing a black lather jacket, blue jeans, and tan boots.
No arrests have been made and no weapon was recovered.
Police are still investigating.
