$5,000 Reward Offered In Fatal Haverford Township Shooting

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Police in Haverford Township are searching for a suspect they say gunned down a man and is connected to another shooting in Philadelphia.

On Saturday, authorities released images of the man connected to a fatal shooting that took place about 6 p.m. on Haverford Road in Delaware County.

Police say he is accused of shooting and killing 29-year-old John Le of Narberth, PA.

"Chains chiming and discs dancing through the air during long walks through the woods." That's how friends of John Le say they'll remember the quiet but caring 29-year-old gunned down in Haverford Saturday night, in what appears to be a random shooting.

Eryck Bevan played a round of disc golf with Le only hours before he died.

"He definitely deserved to have a nice long life, He should have been one of the people coming out here for years," said Bevan.

"He's one of the gentlest nicest people I've ever known and it's a tragedy we lost a great man here," said John DiSciascio.

Police are still searching for a suspect in the case. The man was caught on a security camera fleeing the scene in a red hood.

A new picture released just today gives you a better look at his haircut and facial hair.

"It's a cold blooded vicious thing to just gun someone down like that," said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross.

Ross says the suspect is also linked to another seemingly random attack in the Overbrook Park section of Philadelphia.

It happened 45 minutes before the Haverford homicide, authorities said.

The red hooded suspect is accused of shooting at two people, missing them but hitting the car they were in, before fleeing in a gray Volvo.

"We're asking for the public's help to get this violent individual off the street who already killed one individual and tried to do the same with two other people ," said Ross.
