Walmart Pulls 'Got Retard?', 'Got Hitler?' Mugs From Online Store

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Walmart has pulled offensive mugs off its website which read "got hitler?" and "got retard?"

The mugs started making the rounds on social media, as people started to ask the retail giant why these mugs were being offered online.

A petition was even started on Change.org to get Walmart to pull the mugs.

"Walmart are currently selling a mug that says "Got retard?". Language can be a beautiful thing. This is a prime example of how hurtful words can be. This word is used in an offensive manner to many people with disabilities and to their families," the petition read.

Walmart responded on Twitter, "This item violated our policy and we quickly removed it. It's unacceptable a seller put it on our Marketplace."

A Walmart spokesperson told The New York Daily News that the mug was offered through a third party vendor.

"Once it was brought to our attention, we quickly removed it from the Marketplace," the spokesperson told The News. "We think it's unacceptable a seller put it on the site in the first place."

Vocativ reports a company called JM Holdings LLC was selling the "got hitler?" and "got retard?" mugs.
