Natalie Portman: Trump's Victory Has Energized People 'In A New Way'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Natalie Portman is finding a silver lining in Donald Trump becoming the next president.

The actress told The Hill's In The Know that Trump's victory has been energizing people "in a new way."

"One of the positive things that's come out of this election is a lot of people being very activated to be positive influences in their communities and in their country," Portman said.

She continued, "And we should always be that way – but this is a moment where a lot of people are energized in a new way to make a difference themselves and to be active themselves, and I think that's exciting."

The Hillary Clinton supporter previously said it would be "catastrophic" if Trump was elected president.

Portman added that she wants to "get involved with women and girls leadership programs."
