Trendy Therapy Helping People Soak Stress Away

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The noise of the presidential campaign has many people seeking peace and quiet.

Many say flotation therapy helps people rest, relax, recover and re-balance.

At Flotation Philly in the 500 block East Girard Avenue in Fishtown, there are three flotation units with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt absorbed into ten inches of water in each one. This makes you buoyant when you get in for a 60 or 90 minute session.

One pod resembles a giant dinosaur egg and opens and closes like a clam shell.

Russell Stewart -- the owner -- talks about a" post float balance "one can achieve:

"You will just have a better understanding of where your mind needs to go to allow you to relax. So all the stress that you are taking in from your job from the election doesn't always need to effect what you are doing."

You can release muscle tension and even crack your own back because of the spinal decompression

Customer Amilelle was on cloud nine:

"It reminds me of the zero G experience, weightlessness, space, orientation just the Coriolis effect how things come to us how things move through us."
