Ben Simmons Suffers Bone Fracture In Foot On Final Day Of Sixers Camp

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Things seemed to be going too smooth for the Sixers this summer. On Friday, Ben Simmons rolled his ankle during the final scrimmage of the Sixers' training camp at Stockton University.

As a precaution, the Sixers announced that they were going to get X-rays done as a precaution.

Later that afternoon, the team announced the finding of those tests. After the X-rays and an MRI, the team announced that Simmons suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot.

There is no timetable for Simmon's return to the court. At this time, further medical evaluation will be needed to determine the best treatment option.

Simmons was the Sixers 1st overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
