Atlantic City Police Officer Shot During Robbery May Soon Leave Hospital
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — An Atlantic City police officer shot while responding to a robbery may soon be leaving the hospital.
Atlantic City police announced Wednesday night that Officer Joshlee Vadell's condition has been upgraded and that he could be transferred to a rehabilitation center as early as Thursday.
Authorities have said the nine-year veteran of the force and another officer saw a robbery being committed outside a casino garage in the early morning hours of Sept. 3.
Vadell was shot as he exited his vehicle. The second officer returned fire and struck a suspect, Jerome Damon. He was later found dead a short distance away.
Two other men charged in the shooting remain jailed on $750,000 bail each.
