Should Lane Johnson Start Tonight? Eagles Fans Split

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Should Lane Johnson start tonight?

Johnson, 26, is reportedly facing a 10 game suspension for his second performance enhancing drug policy violation. According to a report, Johnson took an "amino acid that was approved but tested positive for peptide," and is now waiting on the B sample.

So when the Eagles open their preseason slate Thursday night at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will Johnson be on the field?

On the SportsRadio 94WIP Facebook and Twitter pages we asked if the Eagles should start Johnson. On Facebook, fans were split evenly. On Twitter, a slight majority voted yes, Johnson should start (the polls are still on-going).

Michael Barkann and Jody McDonald asked the same question on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show and a slight majority voted Johnson should not start.

Some fans provided their opinions via social media as well.

Bill E. on Facebook: "There's no reason to play him, period. If he's suspended, then others need work to replace him while he's out. If he ends up winning the appeal, then missing one preseason game isn't going to hurt him."

John D. on Facebook: "Thought you were innocent until proven guilty in this country. Haven't heard anything official yet, so give him some reps."

The Eagles will use backup offensive lineman Dennis Kelly, Matt Tobin, Andrew Gardner, Dillon Gordon, Halapoulivaati Vaitai and Allen Barbre to replace Johnson is he is suspended.
