Travel and Leisure Magazine Ranks Rudest Cities; Philly Makes The Cut

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia was recognized by Travel and Leisure Magazine, but  that may not necessarily be a good thing this time.

Philadelphia has ranked #5 on Travel and Leisure Magazine's list of the 15 rudest cities in America. Do Philadelphian's agree?

"When you're in the city, that's what most people come for, is for the sports or for events and when they run into people at these events, most of the time they're drinking and they're just showing their true colors, they're being rude," one Philadelphian told KYW Newsradio.

Another Philly resident didn't exactly agree with the list either.

"I don't think it's noticeably more rude, I just think it's not noticeably as warm."

One man said he is actually familiar to a gruff temperament; in fact, when city people aren't hasty and curt, he finds them a little suspicious.

"I've been to Chicago one time and they were super nice. Super nice! It was almost, I was taken aback at people saying hello and asking me questions; I put my hand on my wallet, made sure my watch was on," he said.

He said despite traveling to other large cities, you know exactly where you are when you land back in Philadelphia.

"Yeah, as soon as I came back, someone punched me right in the face and I felt right at home!"
