Man In Custody In Connection With Del. Sex Assault

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) -- Wilmington Police say a man is in custody in connection with an alleged sexual assault near the Brandywine River earlier this week.

Police say they found an individual matching the suspect description in the area of 14th and King Streets.

The suspect was positively identified as Dequan Rodriguez, 31, police say.

Authorities say Rodriguez provided a full confession.

He was booked on two counts of rape, robbery and three counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, police say.

He is currently awaiting arraignment.

Police urge residents who use the public parks to travel in pairs if possible, and report anything suspicious.
