PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Respected journalists from all around the country took to social media to pay their respects to a beloved man and journalist. Morley safer, a CBS News legend, passed away at the age of 84 on Thursday. Safer is best known for being the longest serving correspondent on ’60 minutes’.

CBS News President David Rhodes released a statement saying,

“No correspondent had more extraordinary range, from war reporting to coverage of every aspect of modern culture. His writing alone defined original reporting.”

It was his last tweet, however, that provided closure for some.
