PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Breaking from the rain and enjoying a sun salutation, yoga fanatics rolled out their mats on the Art Museum step Sunday morning to raise money for breast cancer.

Rebecca and her daughter Tessa were among hundreds who joined in on the Vinyasa flow on the Art Museum steps.

“It’s a wonderful event, it’s great to have them with me,” said Rebecca.

All to raise money for the non-profit Living Beyond Breast Cancer

“We really are about that person who’s been diagnosed, making sure we are connecting them with trusted information and a community of support,” said Kevin Gianotto, who is with the organization.

He says instead of raising money to fight the disease, they link diagnosed patients with the knowledge on how to get through it: like what foods to eat, the effects of some medications and therapeutic ways to cope

“You need to know that you are not alone, that there people who understand what you are going through, and there are people that can help educate you about the disease and really help you get through the next day,” said Gianotto.
