Alleged Murderer Texts Victim's Mom: 'I'm Sorry I Killed Your Daughter'

By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police have charged a man with murder after he called 9-1-1 to confess to killing his ex-girlfriend earlier this week.

Police say 25-year old Juan Camacho was arrested without incident around 5 a.m. Monday, a little over two hours after he made the call to 9-1-1.

In those two hours, Camacho also texted the mother of 27-year-old Veronica Rodriguez saying, "I'm sorry I killed your daughter."

Rodriguez's body was found inside a Kensington home.

She had been strangled and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Camacho is now being charged with murder, rape, sexual assault, abuse of a corpse and other related offenses.
