Police: No Charges Filed At This Time In Death Of Delaware Student
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) -- Police say no charges will be filed yet in the death of a Delaware high school student.
At a press conference police on Friday Wilmington Police Chief Bobby Cumming said, "Because there is still a lot of work left to do in terms of reviewing evidence and relevant facts, we are not in a position to file charges at this time."
"There are over 3 thousand print pages of data, alone that must be painstakingly reviewed by investigators on this case."
He explains what evidence is still being examined in the murder case.
"Scores of interviews, re-interviews, cellular data and electronic data, and furthermore, the forensic medical reports."
Police say sophomore Amy Joyner-Francis was assaulted by three students in a girls' restroom last week at Howard High School of Technology.
She died from her injuries.
School officials suspended three girls allegedly involved in the fight.
An anti-girls-violence rally is planned for tonight at 7 p.m.
Funeral services for Amy Joyner-Francis are Sunday in Wilmington.
