Nova Fans Spending Big Bucks To Score Trip To Final Four
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Villanova fans who want to see the Wildcats play in Houston are shelling out some sizable amounts of cash to get there.
There are three parts of the package if you want to travel to Houston to see Villanova play in the Final Four. Airfare, hotel and NCAA tickets.
"The airfare to go to Houston for both the semis and the championship, the round trip air fare from Philly is anywhere from a $1,000 to a little bit over $1,200," says Brian Ek, a travel analyst with Priceline.
Then there is the cost of a hotel.
"If you want to stay in the more upscale, four-star hotel, plan on spending anywhere between $220 to $660 per night," Ek says. "If you're willing to go three-star, which Houston has some really nice three-star hotels, that would bring the cost down to anywhere between $55 and around $400 per night."
The average ticket price for the Final Four and the title game is $1,700. But Ek says you can get nosebleed tickets for $445.
