Eagles Fans Impressed With Howie Roseman

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The terms the internet is using is "De-Chipping." Howie Roseman is getting rid of Chip Kelly's players and the majority of Eagles fans are loving it.

Roseman reportedly has traded Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso to the Miami Dolphins, and in a separate deal, DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee Titans.

The radio.com poll question for Tuesday's 94WIP Mike & Ike Show with Michael Barkann and Ike Reese revealed about 75-percent of fans love Roseman after the reported trades.

"There is no reason, I mean zero reason, to be upset by these moves," Reese said on Tuesday. "I dare anyone for the next four hours making a case for Byron Maxwell to be an Eagle, or DeMarco Murray to be an Eagle, or the legend -- excuse me -- the myth of Kiko Alonso being an Eagle."

The Eagles are simply dumping the respective salaries of Maxwell and Murray, both of whom are reportedly disgruntled after underachieving in 2015, following the reward of long-term lucrative deals with Philadelphia last Spring. The Eagles are expected to receive some draft picks in compensation, while saving about $10 million on their 2016 cap.

Even the often critical Josh Innes praised the direction of the Eagles on Tuesday's 94WIP Josh Innes Show.

"When you see what the Eagles are doing by stock piling draft picks, getting rid of over-bloated salaries, signing their young guys for the future -- but having a lot of holes to fill and probably not doing it in free-agency, in terms of spending big money -- which they shouldn't," Innes said. "That is what we would call an undercover tank.

"The last 24 hours has turned me to a degree on what they're doing," he continued. "Now I think they're planning on being mediocre and I'm OK with that."

94WIP Morning Show host Angelo Cataldi had a different take than Reese and Innes.

"They are trying to make you forget that Chip Kelly was here because of the petty insecurities of their current GM Howie Roseman," Cataldi said. "I was totally right. I read Howie Roseman to a tea. That Howie Roseman was going to go on a campaign to remove all evidence of Chip Kelly from the roster. The only mistake I made was that there was one exemption to the program and that was Sam Bradford."

Still, on the 94WIP Morning Show, 41-percent of fans called Roseman "brilliant" and 50-percent admitted they're taking the wait-and-see approach. Only eight-percent called the moves "stupid."
