OAKS, Pa. (CBS) — The Young Innovators Fair is underway this weekend in Oaks, Pennsylvania.

About 20,000 people are expected to visit the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center this weekend for the inaugural Young Innovators Fair. Co-founder Gabe Young says this massive event is for kids in grades kindergarten all the way through 12th grade.

“We have about 60 different hands-on attractions across ten innovation worlds,” he says. They can go to any of these innovation worlds and really be able to roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty and learn how to do really cool things. For example, you have Pilots Pad, which is an air and space world where they can launch rockets. We have Hackers Hideout, where they can learn how to program and mod mindcraft.”

Young says the goal is to inspire kids in STEM fields.

“STEM is science, technology, engineering and math,” he says. “And we also have arts.”

The all-star lineup already includes many innovation leaders such as Google and Girl Scouts.
