Hundreds See "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Early In King Of Prussia

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.  (CBS) --  Hundreds of faithful 'Star Wars' fans waited in line Thursday night to catch the seventh installment of the famous franchise.

Fans crowded the IMAX at King of Prussia to see 'The Force Awakens' for an advance screening Thursday evening at 7 p.m.

"I've been waiting ten years to see this movie," Dylan DiPhillipo told Eyewitness News.

Fans from the new, to the more experienced, turned out for the big show.

Some were there in the theater when Episode IV premiered in 1977.

"It was a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away. It was groundbreaking at the time. I saw all three of them," Brian Birsa told Eyewitness News.

The really serious fans started early Thursday morning, with a screening in Bucks County of all six movies that are currently on DVD.

They called it a Star Wars marathon.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the first film since creator George Lucas sold the rights to Disney, though he's still involved.

The film officially opens at midnight on December 18th.
