PHILADELPHIA, PA (CBS) — Malcolm Jenkins and the Eagles got the last laugh in Sunday's 23-20 victory over LeSean "Shady" McCoy and the Buffalo Bills. The Eagles remained relevant in December, while a petulant McCoy ran off Lincoln Financial Field like a 1-year old without his bottle.

Anyway, the game provided some great on-field banter between McCoy, the Eagles' all-time leading rusher, and his former teammates, who he blew off after the game.

"Every time Shady got a first down, he made sure we knew it, and he converted on a few of those," Jenkins said. "There were no real lines that I remember too much. But there was a lot of jawing and a lot of fun. It was all good at the end of the day. Fletcher Cox had a little fun. What comes around goes around. Shady got up and pushed Fletch, and Fletch got him later on."

Jenkins said a big key to the Buffalo victory was keeping it in football mode. They shrugged off the outside distractions of the McCoy-Chip Kelly soap opera and kept it to football. The opening drive sent an immediate message. The Eagles drove right down the field and took a 7-0 lead on Darren Sproles' 1-yard score.

"That set the tone," Jenkins said. "DeMarco Murray ran with purpose, and it was our offense that set the tone. I think beating Buffalo reiterated that if we play together as a team, and we complement each other, we're a really good team that's hard to beat. It was a good hard-fought battle against a really well-coached team, and it took a contribution from everyone on the team in order for us to win. That's exactly what we got."

Jenkins said that he's keeping his black t-shirt with the "53 Angry Men" emblazed in white across the front. It's that energy the Eagles need to continue playing with.

"The whole thing last week was something Mr. (Jeff) Lurie was passionate about, so to see the shirts hanging there on Sunday didn't really surprise me," Jenkins said. "But I actually never saw anything like that before. The message was obviously clear. We'll probably continue to use the message as we go forward."
