PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for three men who fled after leading a state trooper on a brief car chase through South Philadelphia.

The incident began around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on I-95 Southbound just before the Broad Street exit.

Authorities say Pennsylvania State Police stopped a silver Pontiac for a suspended registration, but as the trooper was approaching the car the driver sped off.

A pursuit ensued and ended a short time later when the suspects ditched the vehicle at 28th Street and Passyunk Avenue, and fled on foot.

State police took the car into their possession.

There were no injuries.
