Sixers To Honor The Life And Legacy Of Moses Malone

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Moses Malone was the missing piece for a team poised to win an NBA title. Now an important member of the Sixers family is missing and Malone's sudden death was something that left many fans shocked.

On December 1, the Sixers will honor Malone with a Tribute Night as the team takes on the Lakers, the franchise that Malone helped to beat on the way to the Sixers' last NBA title. A special announcement will also be made on this night.

Malone's teammate, Julius "Dr. J," Erving will be on hand making a special appearance. The franchise will also be making a special announcement at halftime to honor Malone's legacy as a Sixer.

Video tributes from NBA greats will play throughout the game including Shaquille O'Neal and Malone's former Sixers teammate, Charles Barkley. Sixers players will also wear special Malone inspired shooting shirts.

The Sixers will also hold tribute nights this season for Harvey Pollack and Darryl Dawkins.
