'The Uber Of Beauty Services' New App Brings Services To Your Door

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A new app puts beauty at users' fingertips.

It's called "ManeStreem" and it's got more than 1,000 users in the tri-state area and that number is only growing.

It's raining in Turnersville, New Jersey and Beverly Monte is having a "bad hair day."

"My hair was a mess this morning. It had no body."

Time to bring in professional help, but is it too early in the morning?

"Most salons aren't open at 7 a.m."

That's where the new app "ManeStreem" comes in.

Celebrity stylist and South Jersey salon owner Martino Cartier was driving his signature gold Lamborghini when he got the text. In minutes, he was at Beverly's door.

Her cottage room became his salon.

"For the very first time I had a stylist come to my house!"

Back at his salon, with his hair dryer holstered, Martino says the app serves the whole family.

"It's brilliant and changing the industry."

He says the appeal is the convenience.

"It's easy for her. She's got kids, she can't leave. She doesn't have a babysitter. She taps the app and a professional hair dresser will arrive at her house in less than 45 minutes."

MainStreem's CEO and founder Santos Gonzalez describes it as the "Uber" of life.

Users can connect with photographers, massage artists, even spray tanners. It shows their work and profile, and users pay through the app.

There's no exchange of cash, or awkward moment of "did I tip too much or too little?" It makes it completely simple and safe.

Beauty providers are certified and vetted, and two percent of profits from the app go to charity.

"It benefits wigsandwishes.org, which we're in eight countries. We grant wigs and wishes to women and children fighting cancer. MainStreem will fund that, allowing us to do even more than we do today," says Cartier.

Enough to make users happy, even on a bad hair day.

"If it's raining and you don't want to go to the salon, get your hair done and leave and get your hair wet, you can call ManeStreem."

Beverly said she is happy and her husband loves it.
