Bill Cosby Allegations Surface In Attack Ad By Montgomery County DA Hopeful

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) — An attack ad in the race for Montgomery County District Attorney tries to raise questions on how allegations against Bill Cosby were handled a decade ago.

The ad from democratic candidate Kevin Steele attacks republican candidate and former DA Bruce Castor, for declining to bring charges against Bill Cosby in 2005.

"Many more victims came forward, and Castor admitted he could have used their testimony against Cosby, but Castor didn't even try."

Steele says that claim is backed up by a press release Castor put out in 2005.

"Talked about how he had looked at other women – other statements regarding inappropriate behavior."

But Castor argues those victims' statements weren't admissible in court as no one had ever filed a complaint.

"The bottom line is, if Mr. Steele thinks Cosby should be arrested, he should go do it."
