Pennsylvania Ballet Opens New Season October 22

By RJ McKay

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Pennsylvania Ballet opens its new season with speed and precision on October 22.

Angel Corella, artistic director of Pennsylvania Ballet, gives a preview.

"Three of the greatest choreographers are going to be seen on stage. The first one is Chroma by Wayne MacGregor and music by The White Stripes. The next one is George Balanchine's Concerto Barocco with music by Bach, and then the last one is called DGV, Dance with Great Velocity, in French Danse a grande vitesse."

He explains why this first show is important to him.

"Well, I'm actually very excited because this is the first triple bill. The first program that I am going to be putting together as the artistic director of the Pennsylvania Ballet. So, it's actually the very first view of what the new era of the Pennsylvania Ballet is going to be."
