Authorities Investigate Double Shooting In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating a double shooting after shots rang out in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. at the 5400 block of Walnut Street.

Police say two men were standing outside talking to two women when two other men approached the group and announced a robbery.

The attempted robbers then pulled out handguns and the other two men started running. The suspects then fired at them.

Authorities say one man suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh and the other man was shot in the finger.

Police say the bullets came from two separate caliber weapons.

The suspects were wearing dark sweatshirts and fled in an unknown direction.

Police have not located the women the victims were talking to or the shooters, but are investigating the incident.
