How has your education fueled your management success?

“An education can be really helpful in providing the basic fundamentals that any business major needs entering the workforce. Couple that learning with on-the-job experience, and it made for smarter and more efficient results-oriented focus.”

What advice would you give someone just starting out in your field?

“Be confident. A lot of what I have learned has been self-taught because when growing a small business, your environment is constantly changing and you always need to adapt to what comes up next. My success is attributed to the fact that I had to make sure the job got done regardless of whether I knew the ‘right’ way to make that happen. Being responsible for the well being of others or playing a decisive role in your company’s future success can be challenging, especially when you are starting your first job fresh out of college with little to no experience. Having that confidence is the starting point for your growth and securing your position as a successful leader.”
