Philadelphia police say it happened just before 3:30 a.m in the 6700 block of Henry Avenue, near Valley Avenue, in the city’s Roxborough section.

The driver told police she had swerved to avoid being hit by another vehicle when she struck the 25-year-old man, who was walking in the southbound bike lane. Pedestrians have to use the that lane or the shoulder on that stretch of Henry Avenue because there is no sidewalk.
