Pursuit Leads To Police-Involved Shooting In Delaware County
RIDLEY Twp., Pa. (CBS) -- Delaware County authorities say a man was shot during a police chase that ended outside the gates of the Boeing plant along Route 291 in Ridley Park.
Police say around 10:45 a.m., Chester Police attempted to stop a driver in a black Ford Mustang in the area of Morton Avenue.
Authorities say the driver of the car fled the scene and tried to run over two police officers, hitting two cruisers in the process.
Police say the suspect led officers on a chase approximately two miles before stopping in the area of 2 Industrial Highway in Ridley Park.
At some point, officials say one of the Chester police officers shot the suspect one time in the vehicle.
The suspect was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center in stable condition, but police say they believe he was under the influence of narcotics.
Authorities say narcotics were also found in the vehicle.
