Glassboro Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting Boy At Day Care Center

WOODBURY, N.J. (AP) -- A southern New Jersey man has been sentenced to 16 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a young boy enrolled in a day care center that his wife operated in their home.

Gloucester County prosecutors say Raymond Martin also received a concurrent four-year sentence on Friday for a related child endangerment charge. He also will have to register as a sex offender.

The 49-year-old Glassboro man was convicted on the charges in April. His first trial had ended in a hung jury, and he continues to maintain his innocence.

The 4-year-old victim testified in both trials, saying Martin had ``touched me in a private spot'' in 2011. Authorities say Martin admitted in police interviews that he had improper contact with the boy while playing with him.
