Police: Innocent Bystander Shot In Fairhill Overnight

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say a man was shot by accident in the city's Fairhill section overnight.

Around 4:45 a.m., a 53-year-old male was shot in the calf at Front and Lippincott Streets; however, that man was not the intended target.

Police say the shooting was the result of some sort of altercation between a man on a bike and another person.

The man on the bike reportedly turned around and shot at the other person, striking the victim.

There is no word on the victim's condition.

An investigation is now underway.
