Sources: Person Of Interest Being Questioned In South Philadelphia Sexual Assault

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Sources tell CBS 3 Eyewitness News a person of interest is being questioned in a sexual assault in South Philadelphia.

Sources tell CBS 3 Eyewitness News police believe he may be the man they've been looking for in these surveillance photos, a person of interest in a sexual assault in South Philadelphia. Police say a man entered a woman's home, burglarized it and stole her car, then went back and sexually assaulted her.

"I know that he don't do nothing like this. That's just not my brother."

The man's sister says he hasn't been home in days but police took clothing from their home Thursday during a search and were back again on Friday.

"They went in his room, all through the house, the whole house. They went through the whole house," she said.

"I just know that my brother is innocent."

The 35-year-old victim from Monday says the man who attacked her wore a mask and red gloves, which may tie the suspect to a similar assault in March.

The man has not been formally charged and police have not publicly named him as a suspect. Sources tell Eyewitness News the man is at a state penitentiary held on a probation violation awaiting a probation hearing.

The City of Philadelphia Mayor's Office is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect responsible for this crime.
