Local Exhibit Examines The Science Of Gross Things

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The science of gross things is explored at a new exhibit opening today at a Philadelphia museum.

Animal Grossology is all about the sort of back side of nature, according to Jennifer Sontchi, Director of the exhibit at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.

"So we explore blood and poop and scary insects, and how things feel and slime and all the wonderful things that really excite kids. We get them laughing get them having fun, and then kind of engage them with some of the more factual part of the story as well."

From a burping cow, to penguin poop, fifth graders at the Russell Byers Charter school were learning about digestion and a whole lot more.

"This is a part of life and every body does different things. We are mammals, we are part of the animal kingdom so many animals do similar things like us so its pretty normal" the exhibit is called grossology what do you expect to see?
