Pet Adoption Events This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Spring is the perfect time of year to help animals, whether you're thinking of fostering or adopting and bringing lots of love into your home for your family.

Check out your nearby animal shelters and rescues for the many loveable dogs and cats that need love, a family and a second chance at happiness.

This time of year there are many adoption events that also offer fun for the whole family.

This Saturday, May 16th, the AWA presents the Paws and Feet 5K Race & Doggie Fun Day at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, NJ from 9am to 2pm. For more information, visit AWANJ.org.

The Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia presents a free party and adoption
event this weekend as well! Celebrate Family Fun Day this Sunday, May 17th at Lloyd Hall Patio, 1 Boathouse Row in Philly right behind the Cosmic Café from 10:30am to 2:30pm. Fun activities include live music, games and prizes, face painting, food, drinks and more! And it's all free and fun for the whole family.

And while you're there, meet some of the adorable animals that are waiting to get adopted into loving, forever homes.
